Some women having to improvise! Yes that’s right in 2021 this is a problem!!!
I am so lucky, privileged or fortunate, that I’ve always had the money for my periods, yes ‘growing up’ I was embarrassed about periods! But now I fully embrace it as a fact of being a women and it’s pretty phenomenal if you think about the female body and all it’s uses!!
I’m proud to be a woman! But with that comes responsibility!
I want you to imagine for one moment Your daughter? sister? friend? mother? The lady you work with? Can’t afford sanitary products or hygiene products....... meaning;
💔They don’t go to school.
💔They call in sick- catch 22
💔They hide away
💔 Their hygiene suffers causing them problems
💔 They fear their period
💔 Stress and anxiety levels increase!
If this isn’t you, then you should care as much as I do!
NO 𝐅𝐄𝐌𝐀𝐋𝐄 should feel this way! Did you know this is happening right here right now on your doorstep!
This year, more people than 𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑 have faced into the effects of the pandemic, being furloughed not knowing when or where money will be coming from! 𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐄!
Thankfully there are some 𝐈𝐍𝐂𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐁𝐋𝐄 angels in my local community that help in this situation!
𝐈𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟕 Women Shall Overcome started as an annual event under the Anti Austerity movement 𝗪𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞. The purpose of the event was to champion and empower local women whilst raising much needed sanitary items for local charities 𝐍𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐩, 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐨𝐝𝐠𝐞, 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐝 𝐁𝐨𝐱 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭.
𝐈𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟏𝟗 from identified need at the annual events, the group 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐞 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 was started to more regularly provide support and events to help champion and empower local women, whilst continuing to collect and distribute sanitary and toiletry items. Due to increased demand during lockdown the group have formalised their work by establishing as Widnes' 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐲𝐠𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 collecting and distributing toileitres and hygeine products to many community partners.
𝐒𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨?
💫I am so overwhelmed that I get to support these absolutely HEROES!! Together we have created 2 tees! That will enable more awareness of the problem and support this brilliant charity for our local community!
For every tee sold £𝟔.𝟓𝟎 will be gifted to 𝗪𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐡𝐲𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐤!
